Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police confirmed the safety of Takbiran celebrations in Jakarta and its surrounding areas on Tuesday (9/4/24). Takbiran, the pre-Eid celebration, sees Muslims gather to chant praises to Allah, marking the end of Ramadan. " Thank God, it's safe. Our officers have been patrolling at the Tua Kota and HI checkpoints," said Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi, the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police. He noted that there have been no reports of Takbir rounds by the public. Chief Ade explainedthat since the beginning, the Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General. Karyoto, has advised residents against Takbir Keliling, or  roaming Takbiran. As many as 1,500 personnel were deployed to secure Takbiran activities in Jakarta and its surroundings. Chief Ade explained that they set up interception points to deter people attempting Takbir Keliling. "In Kalimalang and Lenteng Agung, we have established posts. We also conduct turnbacks in Daan Mogot and Kalideres," he elaborated. The Police have also stationed personnel at various key points, including Tomang, Slipi, Semanggi, Kuningan, Pancoran, especially along the Gatot Subroto and Bandung route. Torchlight parades conducted on foot are permitted and will be escorted for safety. "We must assure their safety during these parades," Chief Ade said. (mg/ri/hn/nm)
