Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta Regional Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri on Monday (5/1/2026) instructed newly appointed precinct chiefs across Jakarta to immediately engage directly in field operations to strengthen public security and prevent public order disturbances.
“Sub-regional police and police office chiefs must be physically present at vulnerable locations and times, actively engaging communities, schools, religious leaders, and youth groups to prevent security disruptions,” he said during a leadership handover ceremony at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters as reported by antaranews.com.
Chief Asep stressed that early detection and rapid response are critical, particularly to suppress street brawls, which he ordered to be reduced to zero incidents. He said that even minor intelligence inputs must be acted upon swiftly and accurately.
The directive was delivered during the official transfer of duties for several senior officers and precinct chiefs, which Chief Asep described as more than a ceremonial event, but a reaffirmation of institutional responsibility.
He emphasized that leadership continuity, adaptive strategies, and community-oriented policing are essential to maintaining security and public trust in Jakarta and surrounding areas.
