Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said on Monday (5/1/2026) that the escalating political tensions between the United States and Venezuela have not yet affected Indonesia’s imported oil prices, as the government continues close monitoring.

“Oil prices remain stable, and over the past few days we have not seen significant volatility,” he said before attending a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace as reported by antaranews.com.

Minister Airlangga explained that global oil prices are currently hovering around USD 63 per barrel, despite Venezuela being a major oil-producing country. While geopolitical escalation could eventually push prices higher, Indonesia has not experienced immediate impacts.

The government, he said, is coordinating across ministries to anticipate potential risks and prepare mitigation measures if market conditions change.

The minister added that authorities are also tracking developments affecting oil exports from Venezuela, while ensuring domestic energy security remains protected amid global uncertainty.
