Metro Jaya Regional Police to Sow Corns on 16.5 Hectares of Land in Bekasi Regency

inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi Regency. Metro Jaya Regional Police officially has launched the activity of sowing corn on 1 million hectares of land across Indonesia. The activity of Metro Jaya Regional Police was held at Yoyo Corn Fields, Harapan Indah City, Bekasi Regency on Tuesday (1/21/2025).

The launching of the program was held simultaneously in all Indonesian Regional Police, led directly by the Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, virtually from Subang, West Java.

The Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi says that the program is a follow up from them the initiative of utilizing unused productive land that has begun since November 2024.

Ade explained that in the Bekasi City and Regency areas there are a total of 16.5 hectares of land utilized, consisting of 5 hectares in Bekasi City and 11.5 hectares in Bekasi Regency. In addition, the utilization of productive land is also carried out at the Metro Jaya Regional Police State Police School (SPN) covering an area of ​​2.1 hectares fertile lands that are fit to support corn farming for animal feed.

"We also work with farmer groups around the SPN Metro Jaya Regional Police involving 20 personnel, including retirees and local residents. The harvest will later be distributed for the welfare of local residents," he said.

This activity is expected to provide a significant contribution to national food security while strengthening the synergy between Metro Jaya Regional Police and the community.

"Let's together realize the grand vision of food self-sufficiency and food security in Indonesia," Ade calls.
