Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Bali Regional Police officially closed a copyright dispute between PT Mitra Bali Sukses, the license holder of the Mie Gacoan brand, and the Indonesian Music Licensing Center (SELMI) through a restorative justice settlement.
“The parties have resolved their issues. With this, our investigation is terminated and the case is settled through restorative justice,” said Bali Police Special Crime Director Senior Superintendent Teguh Widodo during a press conference on Friday (29/8/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The peace agreement, signed on 8 August 2025, required PT Mitra Bali Sukses to pay Rp2,264,502,000 in royalties to SELMI for licensed songs played across its 10 outlets. Company director I Gusti Ayu Sasih Ira confirmed payment until December 2025 but noted they may reconsider playing music in future outlets.
“This is only a supporting element. Our core business is food,” she said, adding that the case serves as a lesson in complying with copyright law.
Bali Police confirmed the dispute is fully resolved.
