Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir announced a 10% reduction in airfares for the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 holiday period.
“Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, and Pelita Air have adjusted fares appropriately and in line with the President’s instructions,” he said during a visit to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Wednesday (4/12/2024).
The fare reduction was achieved through collaboration between his Ministry, the Ministry of Transportation, state-owned energy company Pertamina, and airport operators. This initiative aims to ease travel costs for citizens during the holiday season.
Garuda Indonesia CEO Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan confirmed that domestic ticket prices were adjusted starting 19 December 2024, through 3 January 2025. In preparation for increased demand, Garuda Indonesia and Citilink have readied a combined fleet of 98 aircraft.
Minister Erick emphasized ongoing monitoring of airfare pricing, with monthly evaluations to ensure affordability.
“This coordinated effort between ministries reflects our commitment to delivering the best service for the public,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com
