Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs assures no Indonesians affected or be the victim of the Taiwan earthquake. “Following a communication with Indonesian Trade and Economic Office (KDEI) in Taipei, there are no Indonesians reported to be the victim of the earthquake,” says the spokesperson of Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Lalu Muhammad Iqbal on Wednesday (4/3/2024). In KDEI official social media accounts, KDEI Taipei implores all Indonesians in Taiwan, particularly in Hualien, to beware of the tsunami. “Indonesians in Taiwan are urged to follow the information update from the Taiwan or Taipei authorities,” wrote KDEI. Indonesians affected by the disaster can also contact KDEI Taipei through +88690132000 and +886987587000 hotline numbers. It is worth noting that Taipei was rocked with 7.5 and 6.6 magnitude earthquakes on Wednesday morning. The shock was felt even to Okinawa and Miyako Island in Japan, forcing the authorities to issue a tsunami warning on these islands. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
