Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Indonesian Health Ministry records as of late February 2024, there are 16,000 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) which 124 of them caused death.
“Most death cases occurred in Central Java. There, there are 34 victims who died, then followed by 30 cases in West Java,” said the Director of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases, Imran Pambudi on Monday (3/4/24).
Meanwhile, the region with the most DHF cases is in West Java, with almost 4,800 cases recorded.
“Then, the data also showed the age most vulnerable to DHF is children at the age of 5-14 years,” reports Iman.
In light of this knowledge, he implores to all parents to be aware with the DHF as the risks is far greater in children than in adults.
Imran conveyed that the early symptoms of this disease is high fever. “Parents should beware if their children’s high fever is going down, but not followed with the improvement in physical conditions on the fifth day after contracting the illness,” warned Imran.
