Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The East Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police arrested two suspects during a raid on a rented house in Rambutan district, Ciracas, East Jakarta, believed to be used as a base for stolen motorcycles on Sunday.
Officers also seized seven motorcycles with removed license plates, indicating the vehicles had been prepared for resale or further concealment.
“Two suspects have been taken into custody in connection with motorcycle theft. One of them was caught with a T-shaped key, commonly used to unlock and steal motorcycles,” said East Jakarta Police Criminal Unit Head First Inspector Bayu on Monday (26/8/2025).
The case was uncovered following a separate operation where officers intercepted a group of teenagers allegedly preparing for a street brawl.
Investigators are questioning the suspects and pursuing other members of the alleged theft ring.
Police urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities. Victims of motorcycle theft are encouraged to check recovered vehicles at East Jakarta Police by presenting proof of ownership.
