inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Vice Chairperson of the National Commission on Violence Against Women, Ratna Batara Munti, urged the government to investigate the rape of a child by 12 men in Cianjur. She emphasized that she would monitor the case of sexual violence against children to uphold the law and justice.

She made this statement after a Public Hearing (RDPU) with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) to provide input on the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) Bill.

She emphasized that the rights of children as victims of sexual violence must be fulfilled by the government through relevant agencies.

"Have the rights of victims regulated in the Child Protection Law and the TPKS been truly upheld by the government?" she asked as reported by RRI on Monday (7/14/2025).

She stated that she advised the victim to report to the National Commission on Violence Against Women. However, if they have not received assistance, she assured that her agency will monitor and conduct outreach.

"We must monitor whether their rights have been fulfilled. If, for example, legal counsel is available, we recommend that they also report it to the National Commission on Violence Against Women, so that the Commission can also monitor this case," he explained.

She also added that the rights of child victims of violence are regulated in the TPKS Law and the Child Protection Law. She encouraged the Regional Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children and the Social Services Department to ensure these rights are fulfilled.

"But if not, we can also conduct outreach to see if there is any assistance in this case," she explained.
