Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Navy has deployed key defense vessels to support the search for victims of the sunken tourist boat KM Putri Sakinah in the waters off Padar Island, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, as the joint search and rescue operation continues.
“We continue to work in full synergy with all relevant agencies in this humanitarian mission,” Fleet Command Chief Vice Admiral Denih Hendrata said on Monday (29/12/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.
The Navy dispatched rigid buoyancy boats, rigid inflatable boats, and fast patrol vessels to strengthen surface and underwater searches. The joint SAR team includes the Navy, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Water Police, East Nusa Tenggara Police, the Labuan Bajo Port Authority, and professional divers, operating from Marina Labuan Bajo.
The operation aims to locate missing passengers and the vessel’s wreckage while prioritizing personnel safety. Authorities said the boat, carrying 11 people, sank after being hit by high waves during a trip from Kalong Island to Padar Island.
