Inp.polri.go.id - Padang. Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Romo Muhammad Syafi’i, said on Friday (16/5/2025) that Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have not encountered any significant issues while in Saudi Arabia during this year pilgrimage season.
"Everything has been manageable," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
This year marked the first time Saudi Arabia has implemented a new system involving eight authorized syarikah (service providers) to manage pilgrim services, replacing the previous single-operator system.
While some confusion arose among pilgrims due to the new structure, Deputy Minister Syafi’i said the situation was under control.
He raised his optimism that services will improve in the coming years as stakeholders adapt.
