inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The East Kalimantan Regional Police emphasized that there is no room for street criminals in East Kalimantan.
"The police are committed to providing a real sense of security to the public by not allowing street criminals to thrive here," stated East Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Endar Priantoro, Thursday (6/4/2026).
In their effort providing security, the police have intensified patrols during critical hours, deployed surveillance systems, and strengthened neighborhood security systems. The public is also urged to be more vigilant and immediately report crimes through the nearest police station or call 110.
This commitment is demonstrated by the disclosure of 63 cases of 3C crimes (theft, robbery, and motorcycle theft) from May 1 to June 2, 2026, with 81 suspects arrested.
"Of the 63 cases disclosed, 24 were motorcycle theft with 31 suspects arrested," explained Endar.
There were also 25 cases of theft with 32 suspects, six cases of theft with seven suspects, three cases of robbery with three suspects, five other cases involving assault and possession of sharp weapons, and other crimes with eight suspects.
The majority of these cases occurred in the early morning, specifically between 2:00 and 5:00 a.m., and several sub-districts in Samarinda, Balikpapan, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kutai, Berau, Paser, and North Penajam Paser Regency were listed as high-risk areas.
"Street crime is a primary concern for the police because it directly impacts the sense of security of the people of East Kalimantan Province," said Endar.
