North Jakarta Metro Sub-regional Police States 17 Polling Stations Voting Process Hindered due to Floods

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The North Jakarta Metro Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Gidion Arif Setyawan said that in general the election process in the city has been going smoothly and secured. However, the police chief told that there will follow-up voting in 17 polling stations due to floods. The downpour on Wednesday February 14th, 2024, on the voting day, have caused several areas inundated by waters, hindering the voting process. Due to the disaster, KPU have issued follow-up voting for the 17 polling stations. “Only the 17 polling stations that will carried out follow-up voting. The 17 polling stations are in two districts, Pegangsaan Dua and Sunter Jaya,” said the police chief. Furthermore, the police chief has dispatched 902 personnel to secure the election on that area ahead the voting day. Which have 4,863 polling stations with Permanent Voter Data of 1,345,136 people. “For security of the polling stations, we are collaborating with the military, regional government, General Election Commission, Election Supervisory Body to ensure that the democratic process could went successfully and conducive,” conclude Gidion. It was reported that that the North Jakarta General Election Commission determined that the follow-up election will take place on February 18th, 2024. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
