North Sumatra Regional Police Arrest Thousands of Drug Suspect Since 2023

Inp.polri.go.id – North Sumatra. North Sumatra Regional Police have arrested 3,860 people involved in drug criminal activity in the past months from September 2023 to March 2024. “From the report acquired today, we have arrested 3,860 suspects with 2,835 cases of drug criminal actions,” said North Sumatra Regional Police Public Relations Division, Senior Superintendent Hadi Wahyudi on Sunday (3/24/2024). Hadi continues that from the total suspect, there are drug users and 689 drug couriers linked to the drug syndicate. The suspects have all been tried. “From the drug case disclosure, we also confiscated a total evidence of 509.05 kilograms of meth, 619.29 kilogram of weed, 65 marijuana plants, 101,317 ecstasy pills, 95 pills of excimer, 49 pills of tramadol, and 431 pills of fenidi trihexy,” said Hadi. Moreover, North Sumatra Regional Police Public Relations Chief also stated that other drugs, police also confiscated 489 motorcycles, 53 cars, five units of motorized rickshaw, 366 bongs, and IDR 449,119,550. “Operation at the border will continue to be intensified, all drug criminals will be dealt with,” said Hadi. He further states that his party will not stop to hunt the drug criminals until the province is free from drugs. (ad/pt/pr/nm)
