East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police Chief Inspector General Setyo Budiyanto attended the opening of the anti-drug community empowerment meeting in realizing drug threat-responsive districts/cities (Kotan), at the Swiss Belcourt Hotel, Kupang City, Thursday (4/8/22).
The activity, which was organized by the National Narcotics Agency of East Nusa Tenggara Province (BNNP NTT) was opened by the Deputy Governor of NTT Josef Nae Soi, and was attended by the Head of BNNP NTT, Brigadier General R. Nurhadi Yuwono, CHRMP.
In this activity, the NTT Police Chief had the opportunity to share his knowledge about the drug abuse in the East Nusa Tenggara region.
Inspector General Setyo Budiyanto hopes that the younger generation, including universities students, are protected from deviant behavior that will lead to drug use.
"So we have to take care of everything, because if we don't, it will turn into something that we don’t want to," explained the Police Chief.
He also said that changes in a person's behavior can be seen whether they consume drugs or not. "The dangers of drugs can happen anywhere. We are lucky that in Kupang there is no such thing as a drug village. So with this activity, we remind you all to protect our neighborhood from the dangers of drugs,” he explained.
Inspector General Setyo Budiyanto invited all those present in the event to work together in preventing drugs from an early age.
"There is no such things as act after it happened, it was already too late if it was like that. So for all of us who were present in this activity, let's together prevent, control and eliminate the dangers of drugs. We all have our own part in protecting our neighborhood," explained the Police Chief.
