NTT Police Handed Over the Evidence of Shallot Procurement Project Corruption to KPK

inp.polri.go.id -  The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has taken over the alleged corruption case of the shallot procurement project in Malacca Regency. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police investigators also handed over the evidence to KPK investigators. "We hand it over to when they KPK took over the case," said the NTT Police Chief, Inspector General Setyo Budiyanto, at the NTT Regional Police HQ. The NTT Police Chief admitted that the KPK took over the case for the procurement of onion seeds after the handling of this case was stopped in 2021 and reopened in 2022. “The took over is for the effectiveness and efficiency in handling this case. On the other hand, the litigants need legal certainty," said the NTT Police Chief. Investigators of Sub Directorate of Corruption Crime Unit previously seized a number of evidence related to corruption in the procurement of shallot seeds for the 2018 fiscal year in Malacca Regency. The evidence includes two boxes of planning documents, procurement processes, contract implementation documents, and payment documents related to the work package for the procurement of shallot seeds at the Department of Food Crops, Horticulture and Plantations of Malacca Regency for Fiscal Year 2018. The police also secure a black HRV car with police number W 1175 VK worth Rp 400,000,000 belonging to the suspect Severinus Defrikandus Siriben. The police also confiscated Rp 665,696,000 in cash from nine suspects. At most, Rp250 million was confiscated from the suspect Marthinus Bere. The total amount of state financial that the police had able to secure is IDR 1,065,696,000. All of this evidence was handed over to the KPK investigators along with the minutes of delegation.
