inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Papua Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Patrige emphasized that his party will be firm in maintaining security during the Regional Head Election in Papua.

This commitment was demonstrated by how many personnel were deployed to every election stages in Papua.

Partrige reveals that he has deployed a total of 10,516 personnel to be involved in securing  Papua Regional Head Election, starting from the campaign period until its over.

He detailed that the total number of personnel are coming from Papua Regional Police HQ and the ranks of Sub-regional Police in the province. He says for Papua province itself, he assigned 3,000 personnel to secure the region, while the rest were stationed in three New Autonomous Region in Papua such as Papua Mountains, Central Papua, and South Papua.

Furthermore, several locations are included to be the focus of the operation due to Election Supervisory Body determination of its prone level. The region are Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Waropen and Mamberamo Raya.

In his conclusion, Patrige says his party will support the smooth and success of the Regional Head Election by prioritizing security disturbance prevention efforts.

“Unity and solid collaboration between state institutions in succeeding the election is very important to do. There are many examples of it,” he concludes.
