Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP), Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, called on communities across Papua on Tuesday (9/12/2025) to work together in maintaining regional security, emphasizing that safety is achieved through collaboration.
“This mass gathering of community security partners reflects our shared commitment to ensuring a safe, orderly, and peaceful Papua,” he said during the ceremony attended by 1,200 participants at the Papua Regional Police Headquarters field in Koya, Jayapura, as reported by antaranews.com.
The event was joined by Papua Police Chief Inspector General Patrige Renwarin, Papua Governor Mathius Fakhiri, and diverse community groups including motorcycle taxi drivers, farmers, fishermen, port workers, security officers, police personnel, and retired police families.
Chief Dedi stressed that the gathering was not ceremonial but a momentum to strengthen public participation in safeguarding security. He noted that global conflicts, rapid technological shifts, trade tensions, and climate change require communities to remain adaptive and serve as the earliest observers of potential disturbances.
