inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf stated that parents play a crucial role in the success of the Sekolah Rakyat (SR) program, which aims to provide access to free, quality education and break the cycle of poverty in Indonesia.

"We must not let children who are already attending school here feel uneasy, or even unsupported by their parents. Their moral support, encouragement, and active involvement are essential," said the Minister of Social Affairs on Tuesday (8/5/2025).

He stated that President Prabowo Subianto has specifically directed that parents be given full access to their children at any time to maintain students' enthusiasm and peace of mind while studying.

"Sekolah Rakyat is one of President Prabowo Subianto's five priority programs. Other priority programs include Free Health Checks and Free Nutritious Meals (MBG)," said the Minister Saifullah.

He added that construction of a Sekolah Rakyat building in Lamongan Regency is currently in the planning process.

The Lamongan Regency Government has prepared eight hectares of land, and construction will utilize the State Budget (APBN) as directed by President Prabowo.

"The construction will be proposed through the Ministry of Public Works and is targeted to accommodate more than 1,000 students, and will be ready for use next year," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
