inp.polri.go.id - East Flores. Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki again showed very high volcanic activity, with a large eruption with a column of volcanic ash soaring up to 18,000 meters above the peak or around 19,584 meters above sea level on Monday (7/7/2025).
This eruption was also accompanied by a loud bang and hot clouds as far as 5 kilometers to the north and northeast.
Based on data from the Lewotobi Laki-laki Volcano Observation Post, the eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 47.3 mm and a duration of around 6 minutes 26 seconds. Eruptive activity was still ongoing when this report was made.
In response to this, the NTT Regional Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Henry Novika Chandra, appealed to the public to always prioritize safety and comply with official recommendations from disaster authorities.
"We appeal to the public not to carry out activities within a radius of 6 kilometers from the center of the eruption, as well as the southwest to northeast sectors up to a radius of 7 kilometers. This is for the safety of all," said Henry in his statement.
Public also advised to stay calm and not to believe any unconfirmed information and to follow the instructions from the Regional Government.
In addition, people are asked to be aware of the potential for rain lava floods, especially in the areas of Dulipali, Padang Pasir, Nobo, Nurabelen, Klatanlo, Hokeng Jaya, Boru, and Nawakote if heavy rain falls.
For people affected by ash rain, the use of masks or nose-mouth covers is highly recommended to prevent respiratory problems.
