Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Peruvian authorities have arrested five Venezuelan nationals suspected of killing Zetro Leonardo Purba, a staff member of the Indonesian Embassy in Lima, earlier this month.

The National Police of Peru carried out an operation on 9 September 2025, seizing a pistol believed to have been used in the attack. A forensic report cited by local broadcaster Canal N confirmed the bullets matched those found at the crime scene and in Purba’s body, according to  antaranews.com on Monday (15/9/2025).

One of the suspects is reported to be the owner of the motorcycle used during the shooting. Peruvian Police also confiscated explosives, 10 mobile phones, and the vehicle.

The suspects, alleged members of the criminal gang Los Maleantes del Cono, were captured in San Martin de Porres district in Lima.

Zetro Purba, serving as Junior Chancery Officer at KBRI Lima, was fatally shot near his residence in Lince on 1 September 2025. His body has since undergone autopsy as part of the investigation.
