Polda Sumut Helps Evacuates People After A Gas Leaked in Sibanggor Julu Village

inp.polri.go.id – Mandailing Natal. The Mandailing Natal Resort Police (Polres Mandailing Natal), along with the local government, evacuated residents after a gas well belonging to PT. SMGP leaked in Sibanggor Julu Village, Puncak Sorik Marapi District. Monday (25/4/22). The Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the North Sumatra Police (Polda Sumut), Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, S.I.K., S.H., stated that as many as 21 people had to be rushed to the Panyabungan Hospital. "Our first step is to evacuate and help the victims. So far, 21 people have been taken to the hospital for medical treatment," said Kabid Humas Polda Sumut. He adds that PT SMGP, assisted by TNI, Polri, and Regency Government personnel had succeeded in closing the leak that emitted the suspected toxic gas. Polda Sumut have also dispatched a team of Forensic Lab Center and General Criminal Investigation to investigate the crime scene. “Residents in the vicinity of the location were successfully evacuated away from PT SMGP. We have also flown 2 teams from Forensic Lab Center and the General Criminal Investigation to investigate the crime scene," added Kabid Humas Polda Sumut. Meanwhile, from the monitoring of security personnel, it appears that the situation is already under control. "We are still focused on handling the victims. The case itself is still under investigation," concluded Kabid Humas Polda Sumut.
