inp.polri.go.id - South Tapanuli. Recovery efforts in areas affected by floods and landslides in South Tapanuli Regency continued on Thursday (1/15/2026).

Personnel from the North Sumatra Regional Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) unit, participating in Operation Aman Nusa II, along with elements from the Indonesian National Military (TNI), cleans and repairs the houses of the disaster-affected residents in Batang Toru District.

The activities took place in several villages, including Huta Godang Village, Batu Horing Village, Napa Village, and Batu Hula Village. 

A total of 88 personnel were deployed directly to the field from one SSK, including support from a field kitchen team from the Batang Toru District Office. 

The main focus of the activities included cleaning homes and yards buried by floodwaters and landslides, constructing wooden floors for temporary shelters, and clearing land for the construction of permanent housing. 

The joint personnel worked collaboratively using both manual and heavy equipment to expedite the recovery process.

"Post-disaster recovery isn't just about clearing debris, but also about restoring a sense of security and hope to the community. Our presence here demonstrates our commitment to helping residents recover and gradually return to their normal activities," said the joint team leader, Police Senior Inspector Tahi Parulian Hutagalung.

Through this activity, the authorities emphasized their role not only in maintaining security but also in providing humanitarian solutions, while strengthening cross-sector cooperation to accelerate recovery in disaster-affected areas in North Sumatra.
