inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police held a coordination meeting on the implementation of the new Criminal Code (KUHP) and Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). The meeting was held with the Jakarta Special Region High Prosecutor's Office, the Banten High Prosecutor's Office, and the West Java High Prosecutor's Office.
The coordination meeting was held to align perceptions and strengthen technical cooperation between police investigators and research prosecutors at the High Prosecutor's Office.
This synchronization is considered important so that the implementation of the new KUHP and KUHAP can run in the same direction and does not cause differences in interpretation in the law enforcement process.
The Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Iman Imanuddin, said that cross-sectoral coordination is a strategic step in facing the implementation of new legal regulations.
He said that collaboration between the police and the prosecutor's office needs to be built from the beginning of case handling.
"We are coordinating this to ensure that investigators and prosecutors have a shared understanding of the implementation of the new KUHP and KUHAP, so that the law enforcement process can proceed in harmony," he said on Wednesday (1/7/2026).
He added that law enforcement carried out by the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police and the prosecutor's office is also directed to remain firm while prioritizing humanistic values.
With this collaboration, it is hoped that the public will experience justice, legal certainty, and more humane legal services.
