Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Tangerang Sub-regional Police have arrested several suspects accused of looting the residence of Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani in Bintaro, South Tangerang, during recent unrest.
“Several perpetrators have been arrested, named as suspects, and placed under detention,” said South Tangerang Police Chief Superintendent Victor Inkiriwang on Wednesday (3/9/2025).
He added that investigators are conducting further inquiries, with updates to be announced to the public.
The case is being jointly handled by the South Tangerang Police Criminal Investigation Unit and Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Directorate of General Crimes, and has now moved to the investigation stage.
Minister Sri Mulyani’s house on Jalan Mandar, Bintaro Sector 3A, South Tangerang was attacked and looted by unidentified individuals in the early hours of 31 August 2025. The incident sparked widespread public concern.
In a related case, East Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police secured a pet cat belonging to lawmaker Surya Utama, known as Uya Kuya, after his house in Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta, was also ransacked on 30 August 2025. Police have arrested several suspects and are pursuing others.
