Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Sawah Besar Police Office have arrested suspects involved in a deadly brawl under the railway bridge on Jalan Pangeran Jayakarta, Mangga Besar Selatan, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, which claimed the life of a high school student.

The brawl, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, left the victim, identified as MF, a 17-year-old student from Tanjung Priok, dead with severe injuries to his head, face, and body. 

Sawah Besar Police Chief, Senior Inspector Dhanar Dhono Vernandhie, confirmed on Monday (9/9/2024) the incident and identified 17-year-old twin brothers FA and FAK, as the primary suspects.

The confrontation between two long-standing gangs in the Mangga Dua Selatan area was sparked by challenges exchanged via social media. The suspects used sharp weapons, which they had purchased online and sharpened themselves.

Both suspects are charged under the Criminal Code for assault and fatal brawling. Given their ages, the investigation will consider child protection laws. Police have collected weapons, clothing, and CCTV footage as evidence.
