Indonesian Woman Murdered in Albania: Foreign Ministry

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that an Indonesian citizen ,identified as Indah Lilis Sartika Saragih, was murdered in Tirana, Albania’s capital.

"She was reportedly killed by her husband, a U.S. citizen, who later took his own life," said Judha Nugraha, theDirector of Protection for Indonesian Citizens and Legal Entities at the Ministry, in a statement on Tuesday morning (10/9/2024).

The Indonesian Embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria, which oversees Albania, was informed of the death by local authorities on 20 August 2024.

The Ministry and the Embassy has coordinated with Albanian authorities on the investigation and handling of the case, including arrangements for the repatriation of the victim's remains.

The Embassy Sofia has also contacted the victim’s family in Medan, North Sumatra.
