inp.polri.go.id - Central Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police have foiled the smuggling of more than 12 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. The illicit goods were hidden in two blue jerry cans placed inside a truck transporting oranges.

The Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro, stated that the arrest was made on Thursday (10/2/2025) at around 21.30 WIB on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. At that time, the investigative team stopped the truck after conducting intensive surveillance based on intelligence information.

He stated that three suspects with the initials A (30), K (39), and D (38) were arrested. The three are strongly suspected of being part of a cross-provincial crystal methamphetamine distribution network, starting from Aceh, Jakarta, to Central Java.

"They tried to trick officers by using blue jerry cans inserted between oranges, starting from Aceh to Java. But we have mapped their movements and succeeded in preventing the distribution of these goods," he explained, Monday (10/6/2025).

The police chief stated that the confiscated evidence included 12 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, a truck carrying oranges, and two blue jerry cans. He stated that if these illicit goods escape, the impact on the younger generation will be profound.

"Imagine, 12 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine could destroy tens of thousands of lives. This is not just an enforcement measure, but also a safeguard for the nation's future," he said.
