To raise public awareness of the importance of road safety, especially for children, the Bontang Sub-regional Police Department held an educational and humanitarian activity titled "Reward for Rider" at the Yabis 3-way intersection on Tuesday morning, July 22, 2025.

During this activity, motorcyclists carrying children and wearing full helmets were rewarded with chocolate packages as a token of appreciation. Fifty chocolate packages were distributed to riders who demonstrated compliance with traffic regulations.

In addition to the rewards, police also distributed helmets to riders caught carrying children without head protection. Furthermore, a brief educational session on the importance of helmet use and road safety was also provided on-site.

"We want to build a culture of orderly traffic, starting from the smallest steps. One way is by setting an example and educating parents about the importance of protecting children while driving. Children are the future generation that we must protect," said Widho.

Through this activity, the Bontang Sub-regional Police Department hopes to increase public compliance with traffic laws and create a safe and secure traffic environment, especially in Bontang City.
