Inp.polri.go.id - Nduga. Police confirmed on Tuesday (14/2/23) that Egianus Kogoya, the leader of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Nduga, is directly involved in the burning of a Susi Air plane in Paro District, Nduga Regency, Papua. 

"Based on the testimony of several witnesses, we can confirm that it was Egianus Kogoya who led the attack," said Police Superintendent Rio Alexander Panelewen, the Chief of Nduga Sub-Regional Police.

It has been reported that Kogoya' group was present in the area when the plane, with Captain Philip Mark Merthens as the pilot on board, was about to land. 

"According to witnesses, he himself took charge of the burning of the plane. However, we cannot confirm whether he or his subordinates who burned the plane or his subordinates," he added.
