Inp.polri.go.id – Riau Island. The Riau Island Regional Police Drugs Investigation Directorate destroys a total of 935 grams of Marijuana on Wednesday (2/7/2024). Hundreds of kilograms of the marijuana were confiscated by the police from their drug busts in late January. “With the two suspects initialed SO alias S and MNS alias N. We decided to dissolve the drugs after we received a decree of drugs confiscation from the Batam Prosecutor’s Office,” says Vice Director of Riau Island Regional Police Drugs Investigation Directorate, Superintendent Tidar Wulung Dahono on Wednesday (2/7/2024). Tidar noted that the two suspects were arrested on January 27th, 2024 after the investigators received information about the illegal transactions from the local community. “From this drug bust, we estimated that we have saved a total of 4,677 from the dangers of this illicit items,” Tidar said. On the other hand, police will charge the two suspects with Article 114 paragraph (1) Subsidiary article 111 paragraph (1) Jo article 132 paragraph (1) Republic of Indonesia Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of the death penalty or life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years and a minimum of 5 years.
