The Directorate of Special Economic Offences of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police has arrested 13 people involved in suspected illegal online loan platforms (Pinjol). One of them is MLN (39), a SIM Card seller. Chief of Subdirectorate 4 of Directorate of Special Economic Offence of the Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Andri Sumardi, explained that MLN also registered SIM Card used by Desk Collection officers. "For registered Simpati operator, it was charged Rp2,650 per pcs. The inactive and sealed ones were charged Rp1,950 per pcs. He took Rp1,000 profit per SIM Card", he said in Jakarta on Thursday (18/11/2021). For ready-to-use and creditless AS, Loop, Telkomsel, he sold it for Rp9,899 per pcs. The ones with Rp5,000 credit are Rp14,969 per pcs. For the ready-to-use XL operator, he charged it with Rp2,250 per pcs. For the sealed ones, he charged it for Rp1,650 per pcs. On Axis operator, he sold it from Rp1,850 to Rp2,500 per pcs. However, for the sealed card, he sold it for Rp1,370 per pcs. Then, for a ready-to-use Indosat card, he sold it with Rp2,699 per pcs. "He sold it by bales. One bales of 1,000 pcs is Rp1,750,000", Police Grand Commissioner Andri Sudarmadi said. Chief of Subdirectorate 4 of Directorate of Special Economic Offence of the Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police also said that MLN had sold the SIM Card since November 2019. However, Police cannot make sure how many profits he got when he sold the cards. MLN sold the cards through online market applications. One of the buyers is J, the desk collector officer in a Pinjol company. SIM Card bought by J then distributed to his six coworkers at the desk collection. Through those numbers, J terrors his victims who used Pinjol. One of the victims is a mother who hanged herself in Wonogiri, Central Java.
