The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have handed over the case of the suspended Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Firli Bahuri, to the Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office on Friday (15/12/2023) in connection with the alleged extortion case involving former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Ade Safri Simanjuntak, said in a written statement, "The investigative team has submitted the relevant case file to the Public Prosecutor at the Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office, marking the first stage for further examination."
Director Ade Safri said that the investigators are awaiting the results of the examination by the Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office to determine whether the case file is complete or not, antaranews.com reported.
"The total examinations carried out by the investigative team during the investigation of the aforementioned case are examinations of 104 witnesses and 11 expert witnesses," he said.
These expert witnesses include four experts in criminal law, two experts in procedural law, and one expert each in microexpression, digital forensics, multimedia, criminology, and forensic psychology.
Firli was officially named a suspect in the alleged extortion case against former minister Limpo in November.
