Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The "Jakarta Light Festival" illuminated the skies above Jakarta’s Old Town, known as Kota Tua, on Monday night (16/2/2026), marking a vibrant celebration of the Lunar New Year.
The event, held at Fatahillah Square, features a "Chinese New Year Edition" showcase running through Tuesday. Hundreds of spectators gathered to witness high-tech visual projections and cultural performances aimed at revitalizing the historic district’s tourism appeal.
"The video mapping performance is scheduled for 7:15 p.m., transforming the museum's facade into a dynamic 3D display," said Denny Aputra, the Head of the Kota Tua Management Unit.
The festival integrates advanced light technology with traditional festivities, including lion dances and live music from popular bands Hijau Daun and Mata Band. This event is part of a city-wide celebration organized by the Jakarta administration, which also includes dancing fountains at Monas square and cultural festivals in Chinatown and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah.
Authorities expect the festival to foster cultural harmony while providing an immersive entertainment experience for both local and international tourists.
