inp.polri.go.id - Sikka. Sikka Sub-regional Police showed their attention towards the water crisis in Watu Huhur, Darat Gunung Village, Sikka Regency on Thursday (9/19/2024).

Led by the Chief of Sikka Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Hardi Dinata, police members were tasked to help the people to overcome the water crisis due to the long dry season and volcanic ash rain from Mount Lewotobi in East Flores.

The Sikka Sub-regional Police distributed 20,000 liters of clean water through four tanker trucks with a capacity of 5,000 liters each.

The water was distributed directly to residents of Watu Huhur, while some was allocated to five reservoirs in Darat Gunung Village to meet the needs of residents in the surrounding area.

Hardi says that the social activity demonstrates the attention of his unit to the people, especially during their difficult times.

“We were touched by the situation, particularly in hard times like this. Police are present not only to maintain order, but to also help the people. We pray that this aid can help ease their burden,” says Hardi.

Clean water aid took place safely and smoothly. The community hopes that similar activities can continue if the crisis persist.
