inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin says the fatality of Monkeypox in Indonesia is still low and under control.
“In Indonesia, most of its cases are clade IIB variants, which can be cured and with a low fatalities rate. Everyone affected by the Monkeypox in Indonesia can still be cured,” says Minister Budi on Monday (8/26/2024).
He reveals the current number of monkeypox cases in Indonesia is still 88 since 2022.
“In Indonesia itself in 2024, there are at least 12-14 cases that have been found. Recently, we found a new one, but they are still suspect. We are still examining whether it's an Mpox or not,” explains Minister Budi.
Previously, the Acting Head of Communication and Public Service of the Health Ministry, Siti Nadia Tarmizi said that the mass Mpox vaccine for Indonesia is not required as there are no recommendations yet from the World Health Organization.
