Inp.polri.go.id - Malang. Malang Sub-regional Police are investigating the cause of a single-vehicle accident involving a tourist jeep carrying eight passengers en route to Mount Bromo via Gubugklakah, Malang, East Java.

Victims include tourists from South Korea, Bandung, Jakarta, Padang, and Malang.

Malang Police Head of Law Enforcement Unit Second Inspector Samsul Khoirudin said on Tuesday (13/5/2025) that the crash occurred at around 2.30 am on Tuesday. Initial findings suggest the driver, identified as FLF, may have fallen asleep, causing the vehicle to veer off and plunge three meters into a ravine.

All eight passengers sustained injuries. Two victims who suffered fractures are Nathania Frieska Zamris and Haswan Aghis Wahidiyawan. Others were treated at Sumber Sentosa Hospital and Saiful Anwar Hospital, with one patient undergoing on outpatient care.

Authorities continue their investigation to confirm the cause and ensure safety measures for tourism transport in the area.
