Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police launched an investigation in the death of four children found arranged on a bed in a locked room in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (6/12/2023).
" We are investigating the crime scene because the crime scene serves as evidence storage; we need to handle it carefully for optimal evidence collection," said South Jakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indardi.
He explained that at around 2.50 pm, the Jagakarsa Police received a report about a strong, unpleasant odour emanating from the house, antaranews.com reported.
"The Jagakarsa police then arrived at the scene with other personnel and met with witnesses, including the head of the neighbourhood unit and the children's father," he said.
According to the initial crime scene investigation, the father of the children, identified by his initial P, was found lying with injuries to his hand and a knife in his body.
"Further inspection of a room revealed the tragic discovery of four lifeless children arranged on a bed," he added.
According to earlier reports, four children were found dead in a locked room in their house.
Chief Ade Ary said the father had been admitted to the Pasar Minggu Regional General Hospital, while the mother, identified by her initial D, has been in hospital since Saturday.
"As for the parents of these children, they are suspected of attempting suicide," said Superintendent Bintoro, the Head of the South Jakarta Police's Criminal Investigation Department.
