The 15-day crackdown, which runs until 11 February 2026, is part of a coordinated regional effort by the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police. Supported by the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the city administration, the operation utilizes a three-tier strategy involving public outreach, the establishment of community security posts, and strict law enforcement.
"This operation aims to maintain stability in public security and order, specifically suppressing disturbances such as brawls and social ills," saod East Jakarta Deputy Police Chief Superintendent Achmad Akbar, as cited by antaranews.com.
Authorities are prioritizing preventive measures by deploying officers for neighborhood counseling and early detection. However, Chief Akbar emphasized that legal action remains a final resort to ensure a deterrent effect against repeat offenders. Residents are urged to monitor youth activities actively to prevent teenagers from engaging in violent street clashes.
