"(The suspect), with the initials GPS, is 13 years old and K is 52 years old," explained the Head of Public Information, Indonesian National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan, at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters Building, South Jakarta, Wednesday (05/19/21).
Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan explained that suspect GPS was in charge of driving the motorboat. Meanwhile, suspect K is the owner of a tourism business. The two perpetrators were related.
Head of Public Information said that the description of the suspect listing was based on the title of the case carried out by the Boyolali's National Police. The police examined 15 witnesses regarding the incident.
"The evidence that was secured are a motorboat, a jumper jacket, and 14 sandals, " said the Head of Public Information.
The suspect GPS, who is still a minor, is suspected of violating Article 359 of the Criminal Code (KUHP). The maximum sentence is five years in prison.
Suspect K was also charged with Article 359 of the Criminal Code and Article 76 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection. K is considered to be economically exploiting children.
"With a maximum imprisonment of 10 years or a fine of Rp. 200 million," concluded Ahmad Ramadhan.
