inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. The Jambi Regional Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate has uncovered another case of drug abuse and trafficking by seizing methamphetamine weighing 872.311 grams, marijuana weighing 58.136 grams, and crushed ecstasy pills weighing 39.962 grams.
This case was uncovered after the police conducted an investigation based on information from the public who suspected the suspicious movement of a man with the initials of D.
“After we investigated these findings, we found that at his house there was the methamphetamine package hidden by him,” said Jambi Regional Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Director, Senior Superintendent Ernesto Saiser on Tuesday (3/12/2025).
Not only crystal methamphetamine, police also secured the marijuana, and crushed ecstasy pill at the house.
“These ecstasy pill fragments are said to be those of the total 10 kg,” continued Ernesto Saiser.
Moreover, Ernesto explains that D acquired the illicit drugs from someone inside the prison.
“We are still looking into this case and coordinating with the correctional facility officials to find the person mentioned by D,” says Ernesto.
It is estimated that the total value of drugs confiscated by the police can reach up to IDR 1.16 billion with the total lives saved up to 4,700.
Suspect will be charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of the death penalty, life imprisonment, or imprisonment for a minimum of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison, as well as a minimum fine of Rp. 1,000,000,000.00 (one billion rupiah) and a maximum of Rp. 10,000,000,000.00 (ten billion rupiah) plus one third.
