Police to Investigate Alleged Violence Against Arsjad Rasjid's Kadin Faction

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police confirmed on Wednesday (18/9/2024) the complaint of allegations of violence against the faction supporting Arsjad Rasjid, the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), which took place at the Kadin Tower in South Jakarta on Monday).

“We will follow up, investigate, and handle this case according to standard operating procedures professionally,” said Metro Jaya Police  Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi, as quoted by antaranews.com..

The police received the report on Tuesday, with the complainant identified as AR and the reported person as UK. They are currently collecting facts and witness statements.

The alleged violence, as outlined in Article 170 of the Criminal Code, which involves violence against individuals or property in public, carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

Earlier, Kadin held an extraordinary national congress (Munaslub) on Saturday, which appointed Anindya Bakrie as the new chairman. However, Arsjad Rasjid's camp declared the congress invalid, citing violations of organizational rules and rejection by 21 Kadin regional chapters.
