Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Damai Cartenz Task Force is reviewing a proposal issued by the Free Papua Movement (OPM) led by Egianus Kogoya regarding the release of Susi Air pilot Philip Mark Mehrtens, who has been held hostage for over a year. 

The proposal, released on 17  September  2024, requires a mediator for the negotiations, according to antaranews.com.

"We need to verify its authenticity, as previous similar claims have not materialized," said Senior Superintendent Bayu Suseno, the Damai Cartenz Task Force spokesperson, on Wednesday (18/9/2024). C

He said that the task force has to make arrangements with various stakeholders to follow once the proposal's validity is confirmed, aiming for a safe and successful release of the New Zealander pilot.
