inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chief of Police Traffic Corps of Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Istiono, predicts that returning wave of 2021 Eid homecoming to the Greater Jakarta region (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) will occur from Saturday (15/5/21) to Sunday (16/5/2021). "The returning wave will peak today to Sunday because most people will normally work on Monday", he said on Saturday (15/5/21). According to the data released by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, Police Inspector General Istiono predicted 1.5 million people would enter Greater Jakarta. "This needs to be a concern: returning wave to Greater Jakarta. Therefore, we will start to anticipate the mobilisation from either two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles at toll roads and arterial roads", he said. Chief of Police Traffic Corps said that three-axle trucks would be diverted to the arterial road to smoothen the situation and condition of traffic. This diversion will apply from Semarang to Jakarta. Together with National Covid-19 Task Force, his institution will also provide 109 command post to inspect travellers' document legibilities, such as showing Covid-19 Free Statement through antigen or PCR swab test. Furthermore, the two-star general explains that his institution will conduct free random antigen test for the travellers heading to insulation checkpoints. "These command posts spread across 26 rest areas and toll gates and other 83 located on National Road across Jawa and Sumatra, bound for Greater Jakarta. We also started a random antigen test. If there is any positive result, the person will be referred to a nearby hospital", Chief of Police Traffic Corps said.
