inp.polri.go.id - West Java. Ahead of the commemoration of International Workers' Day or May Day 2026, the West Java Regional Police issued an appeal to workers and the public to be more aware against potential infiltration by provocateurs who could incite chaos during public rallies.
The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Hendra Rochmawan, explained that in large-scale mass demonstrations, the possibility of provocateurs inciting chaos is very high. Therefore, the police have prepared anticipatory measures by tightening surveillance at several strategic points.
"We urge labor union leaders to closely monitor their rally. If any individuals attempt to instigate disturbances, report them immediately to officers so they can be dealt with promptly," said Hendra Rochmawan on Sunday (4/26/2026).
The West Java Regional Police also emphasized the importance of collaboration between the demonstration's field coordinators and security forces to ensure the peaceful delivery of their aspirations. Furthermore, situational traffic management has been prepared in city centers to ensure public activities continue without significant disruption.
"We want this year's May Day to be safe, peaceful, and dignified. Firm action will be taken against anyone found guilty of violating the law or damaging public facilities. The security and stability of West Java must be maintained," concluded Senior Commissioner of Police Hendra Rochmawan.
