inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo pushed for the active contribution of Indonesian National Military (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) in supporting People’s School (Sekolah Rakyat). The school is a national educational program that enables children to get their quality education.

At the simultaneous inauguration of 166 People's Schools in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, Prabowo stated that the support of both institutions is needed not only for operational aspects, but also for character development of students.

“If necessary, I would like to ask the TNI and INP to assign several officers to visit and guide these schools," said Prabowo urging TNI and INP personnel not only to be present but also to play a role as role models for the students.

According to Prabowo, the TNI and INP's experience in discipline and order can be an important asset in strengthening the character of the children participating in this program. He cited how they can teach simple but important things like how to dress neatly and be disciplined in carrying out daily activities.

On the other hand, Prabowo reminded teachers to always be good examples for their students, especially in instilling the value of discipline, which is a key part of character development in children.

Moreover, the President also requested that relevant ministers work together to address remaining obstacles, such as a lack of school facilities and learning equipment, so that the program can run optimally.

Prabowo views the People's Schools as a strategic step by the government to expand access to education and alleviate poverty by improving the quality of human resources. The government targets the opening of 500 People's Schools across Indonesia by 2029.
