inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has allocated IDR 5 trillion to PT KAI to add train cars to the Commuter Line (KRL) network, which covers the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas.

He stated that KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin reported to him that KAI requires a budget of IDR 4.8 trillion to add more KRL cars.

However, President Prabowo will allocate up to IDR 5 trillion so that the additional trains can benefit the wider community.

"The people, the vast majority, truly feel the benefits of trains. And now, I've given you a directive: we will expand, we will add more train cars. For Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek), the President Director of KAI said there must be additional cars, new train sets. One train set costs 9 million US dollars, correct? He proposed a total of IDR 4.8 trillion. Yes, I heard you, and I will even allocate IDR 5 trillion, not Rp4.8 trillion. If it's for the people, I will never hesitate," explained President Prabowo on Tuesday (November 4, 2025).

The IDR 5 trillion budget is planned to be allocated for the addition of 30 train cars.

President Prabowo has set a target for KAI to have 30 new train cars available within the next year.

"This year. It is a must. The people will be my eyes. So, there will be an additional 30 new train cars," said President Prabowo.
