inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Viada Hafid urged young people in Indonesia to use technology as a solution for life while maintaining empathy and ethics.
"We must use technology with empathy and ethics. Technology was created to help humans, not to dominate them," said Minister Meutya, Tuesday (11/4/2025).
According to her, technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) has brought major changes to various aspects of human life, and if it is not balanced with empathy and ethics, this technology can lose its moral direction.
Meutya emphasized that humans must remain in a leading position in the use of technology and should not be controlled by the development of increasingly intelligent technological systems.
To maintain this position sustainably, young Indonesians must continue to learn and adapt to technological developments.
"Because technology is resourceful, we must be smart. We must continue to improve our capacity. We must never stop learning, adapting, and innovating," the Minister emphasized.
According to her, the opportunity to adapt to technology, which is now widely available, should not be wasted by the younger generation, because the development of digital transformation essentially brings enormous opportunities for Indonesia.
Meutya stated that the value of Indonesia's digital economy has currently reached more than US$90 billion (approximately IDR 1,500 trillion) and is projected to continue growing to US$360 billion (approximately IDR 6,002 trillion) by 2030.
"Such enormous potential can only be realized if young people are actively involved. If you participate in development, your future will also become brighter," she said.
She hopes that Indonesia's young generation, especially university graduates, will be able to adapt to existing technology and take advantage of opportunities from it.
