inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive a courtesy call from the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday at 11:00 WIB.
Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana said that this meeting is an effort to strengthen economic relations between Indonesia and South Korea.
"This meeting aims to strengthen economic relations and expand and increase opportunities for investment cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea in various strategic sectors," said Yusuf in his statement to reporters, Monday.
Yusuf said the meeting aims to expand collaboration, especially in the investment sector.
Through this meeting, it is hoped that new opportunities can be opened for strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
Previously, in mid-February, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto met with FKI CEO and Vice Chairman Kim Chang-beom to discuss strengthening global supply chain cooperation.
In the meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Office, Vice Chairman Kim conveyed the plan for the FKI business mission visit in April 2025 and asked for support from the Indonesian government for the implementation of the activity.
The business mission will be attended by a number of large South Korean companies that have invested or are planning to develop their investments in Indonesia, such as Lotte Group, Hyundai Motor Company, LG Group, SK Group, Posco Holdings, CJ, EcoPro, Doosan Energy, and LX International.
In response, Airlangga appreciated and supported the plan and encouraged an increase in the realization of Korean companies' investment projects in Indonesia.
According to him, building a close partnership with a country that has experience and advanced technology is a strategic step to increase the competitiveness of the national industry, accelerate technology transfer, and open wider market access.
"Indonesia is very open to Korean companies to invest and develop their businesses," says Airlangga Hartanto.
